FIVE TRACKS YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS WEEK #5

You know what this is all about now... check out my best tracks of the week right here...

1. Kanye West feat. Rihanna- 'All Of The Lights'

Kanye and Rihanna- need I say more? Absolutely love this song- Kanye's next release from new album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' Not as hard as 'Power' or 'Runaway' but still a damn tune. Listen and enjoy...

2. Magnetic Man feat. John Legend- 'Gettin Nowhere'

Magnetic Man AND John Legend? Two of my actual favourite artists and I am NOT disappointed. The mix of the two genre's in amazing and Legend's vocals are as smooth as ever. This song= win.

3. Nicki Minaj feat. Drake- 'Moment 4 Life'

This is definitely the week for decent colabs- this time with Nicki and the ever-amazing Drake. It's a more chilled sound from the fringed goddess, but still as good as any of her other stuff. It features on her album 'Pink Friday' which is out now.

4. The Black Keys- 'Tighten Up'

This band has been around for aaaaaages- a decade in fact, but somehow haven't made it big yet! They're from Ohio and sound a bit like Kings Of Leon so I'm sure they'll be everyone's new favourite band pretty soon. This track is pretty darn good- and has over 5m views on youtube already, so they must be doing something right. Have a listen...

5. Funeral Party- 'Finale'

I keep meaning to put this is my '5 tracks of the week' and now I've finally got round to it! Such a tune from the LA Band. Enjoy :)

FIVE SONGS YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS WEEK #3

Sorry for my absence last week- not having internet made blogging VERY hard! But I'm BACK and have some massive tunes as my top five this week...

1. Danny Byrd- 'We Can Have It All' (Sigma Remix)

This song was an absolute tune to begin with, but the remix has made it even better. Top track of the week for sure...

2. Katy B (Feat. Ms Dynamite)- 'Lights On'

Nearly made this my top tune, but loving that Danny Byrd song just too much! This is such a good tune though, simple but catchy. When I first listened to it I wasn't sure, but it's deffo a grower so make sure you keep listening. Good to see Ms Dynamite back on the circuit too.

3. Rihanna (Feat. David Guetta)- 'Who's That Chick?'

I Can't help but love everything Rihanna does, and I'm especially liking this new dance route she's taken. Nice to see her with everyone's favourite floppy-haired DJ too Mr Guetta himself.

3. Professor Green (Feat. Maverick Sabre)- Jungle

As soon as I listened to Pro's album, I loved this track instantly, so I'm really pleased he's decided to release it as a track. The video's worth a look too. Also, check out the guy singing on the track, Maverick Sabre- you'll deffo rate him if you like Mr Green

5. Wretch 32 (Feat. L.)- 'Traktor'

This is one for all you grime fans- although weirdly it has a middle section with piano in it (?) But yeh, still a good tune from the North Londoner.

CHERYL COLE SET TO WORK WITH RIHANNA

Word through the grapevine is that Cheryl Cole are Rihanna are set to collaborate together at some point in the next year...

The partnering would be a massive achievement for the Geordie star who is trying to 'crack America' in the hope of getting the X-Factor gig overseas as well as here.

Cheryl was obviously delighted with the news , saying:

"I couldn't believe it when I heard that Rihanna wanted to work with me. When I found out she wanted to collaborate, I got goosebumps all over. We're definitely going to do something next year, I'm totally up for it."

Of course she is- who in their right mind would turn Rihanna down?

Willow Smith: Too Much Too Fast?

Watch your back Rihanna, because there’s a new R’n’B starlet set to take over…

Yes, Willow Smith has arrived- and she’s flicking her hair all up in your face with her debut single ‘Whip My Hair’.

The 9-year-old has made a major impression on the music industry since she released the track- funded by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label.

However, it’s led to many questioning whether it’s right for such a young girl to be acting like an adult in such a crazy industry.

Mr ‘Jiggaman’ himself defended the youngster in an interview with Ryan Seacrest saying:

“She has a child's innocence but she has a clear vision of who she is and who she wants to be. I can only imagine that's how Mike [Michael Jackson] was as a young kid, he knew exactly what he wanted. When you have that sort of talent, there is no such thing as too young.”

Of course we all know how well that worked out for Michael… (hmm)

There’s no doubt that the track is an absolute TUNE and that she’s definitely got that star quality, but is nine years old just too young? Is she being exploited?

Or is she just having a laughing flicking her hair around and making Rihanna and co. look like grannies?

I think it’s probably a bit of both- yeh she is too young, but she’s probably having a proper laugh too. I mean, the average life of a 9-year-old isn’t what you’d call exciting- at least this girls going to have some serious banter for the playground.

And plus, who wouldn’t feel a bit of pressure when your brother at 12-years-old is already lording it up in Hollywood? Of course it’s a tad more extreme that the usual sibling rivalry of ‘Who got the most GSCE”s?’, but hey, this is the Smiths we’re talking about here.

The thing is, she was in the limelight anyway due to Will and Jada, so she might as well be doing something worthwhile to get her celeb status- unlike ‘It Girls’ such as Paris bloody Hilton who feed of their family’s fame.

Obviously it wouldn’t have hurt to have waited a few years, but from my experience, if a kid is told not to do something- they want it much more.

Hopefully the fact that she has her parents’ knowledge and support will mean she won’t turn into the mess that is Lindsay Lohan and grow up with her feet firmly on the ground- even if she is whipping her hair all over the place.
