EVERYBODY'S TALKING ABOUT: JAMIE XX

Okay, so if you're like me, you're probably finding the music scene a little boring right now. Yeah there's some alright tunes about, but nothing amazing.

However... get ready to have your mind blown, because Jamie Smith a.k.a. Jamie XX is here.

He's the London producer/remixer who's also a member of last years Mercury Prize winners 'The XX' and I must say, he's killing it right now.

As well as remixing the likes of Adele and Jack Penate, he's also working on his own material that is really offering something different to the scene.

His single 'Far Nearer' is a gorgeously glassy, steel-drumed wonder and his remix of Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' just had me speechless.

Check out these two below and make sure to keep an eye on Mr Smith.

ADELE JUST MIGHT BE TAKING OVER THE WORLD...

After Adele's amazing success here, she's only done it again in America- just like ten times bigger!

Yup the country that is known for not really taking to us Brits musically have lapped up cockney singer- with her album sitting pretty at the top of the charts for 10 weeks now (!!).

Her single 'Rolling In The Deep' has also been at the top of the Billboard for 6 weeks which is no mean feat. either.

What with her success and the buzz around our very own Mr Tinie Tempah and Jessie J, us Brits are definitely representing out there right now.

5 TRACKS YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS WEEK #8

Sorry it's been a while, but I'm back with some summer tunage to treat your iPod too- enjoy!

1. Alexandra Stan- 'Mr Saxobeat'
Any song with a saxophone is good in my book, especially when it's as catchy as this one. Pefect summer tunage right here people.

2. Wynter Gordon - 'Dirty Talk'
One listen to this dirty baseline and you'll be hooked.

3. Vato Gonzalez (feat. Foreign Beggars)- 'Badman Riddim'
I'm sorry but if this came on in a club, there would be something wrong with you if you didn't dance. Heavy beats that are perfect for a summer rave-up.

4. Tinie Tempah feat- 'Simply Unstoppable'
If you got Tinie's 'mazin album 'Discovery' then you'll recognize this tune- his next release from it. Mr Tempah doesn't disappoint yet again with this smash.

5. Estelle feat. Rick Ross- 'Break My Heart'

Thought I'd give you a chilled one to end the top 5... Estelle is back and this song is seriously smooth. Perfect for some Sunday listening, enjoy.

5 TRACK YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS WEEK #8

Hey guys, sorry for the delay in posts- been a busy girl what with it being my birthday and all! :D But here are this weeks recommendations, and my it is a good selection if I do say so myself! So sit, click and enjoy and have fun in this beautiful sunshine we're getting.
Lots of love x

1. Cee-Loo Green- 'Bright Lights Bigger City'
OH EM GEE this is a good track. If there was ever a song that would cheer you up whatever mood your in, then this is it- making you feel all happy and sunny from the first few beats. Fits perfectly with this beautiful weather we're having too as it's totally a track you'll be blasting out your car window. I can't stop listening, and I know you won't too...

2. Katy B- 'Broken Record'
I just can't help loving everything this girl does. After 'Katy On a Mission' and 'Lights On', she's back with this tune which is just as chilled and classy- mixing her mellow vocals against catchy beats. This lady can do no wrong!

3. Birdy- 'Skinny Love'
This is a beautiful cover of Bon Iver's track 'Skinny Love' by the very talented 14-year-old 'Birdy'- her sweet vocals accompanied by just a piano, this is simply gorgeous.

4. Cassius- 'Love You So'
It's been out for a while, but it's just hit my radar again. I thought I'd share seeing as it is simply the perfect track to get you in the mood for a crazy summer of partying, or whatever you're up to. Big beats, big sound, big song.

5. Snoop Dogg- 'Sweat' (David Guetta Remix)
Snoop is back, and he's bringing his music into the new era- swapping old skl R'n'B for club dance- and who better to go to than everyone's favourite hitmaker Guetta. It may not be anything ground-breaking, but I bet you would 'loose your shit' if it came through the speaker at the club. Good work Davey boy.
