Marnie Stern’s second single off her new album ‘Kill Rock Stars’ shows a softer, more sensitive side to the usual hard-rock New Yorker.Her stunning guitar skills are still on show, yet she shows true soul-baring emotion in her lyrics. I challenge anyone not to be filled with compassion for the girl as she repeatedly cries “I’m not enough… I’m not enough”.
However don’t be fooled by all this emotion- the song still packs a punch- crescendo-ing into a dramatic, yet eerily unresolved ending.
Zach Hill complements her perfectly on drums with his passionate beats that help to capture the essence of this heart-wrenching tune.
